Eigene ISO-Datei auf einem netcup Server installieren

Einleitung

Dieses Tutorial erklärt dir, wie du ein eigenes Betriebssystem auf einem netcup Server installierst. Es gibt unzählige Betriebssysteme, die auf deinem Server laufen können. Da netcup nur eine kleine Auswahl an Betriebssystemen bereitstellt, gibt es die Möglichkeit, selbst ein Installationsmedium hochzuladen und für die Installation des Servers zu nutzen. Wie das geht, lernst du in diesem Tutorial.

Voraussetzungen

Es wird ein netcup Server sowie die bootbare ISO-Datei, welche du installieren willst, benötigt.

Schritt 1: Server bestellen

Du kannst diesen Schritt überspringen, falls du schon einen Server bei netcup hast, auf dem du die ISO-Datei installieren willst. Server können auf dieser Seite oder in einer der zahlreichen Sonderaktionen erworben werden. Nach erfolgreicher Bestellung erhält man eine Bestätigungsmail und der Server steht im Server Control Panel (SCP) zur Verfügung.

Schritt 2: Herunterladen eines Installations-Images

Lade dir von der Seite des Betriebssystems deiner Wahl die Installationsdatei herunter. Sie muss im .iso Format vorliegen und bootbar sein.

Schritt 3: Die Installations-ISO ins SCP hochladen

Logge dich in das SCP ein und navigiere zu dem Server, auf dem die ISO-Datei installiert werden soll. Klicke auf "Medien" und dann auf "DVD Laufwerk". Ganz unten auf der Seite gibt es eine Box mit dem Titel "Zugangsdaten zum FTP Server".

Es gibt mehrere Varianten, das ISO hochzuladen. In diesem Tutorial werde ich verschiedene Möglichkeiten beschreiben. Es reicht, wenn du EINE davon befolgst.

Variante A - Hochladen der ISO-Datei mit Filezilla

Öffne Filezilla. Gib oben in der Leiste bei "Server" die Adresse ein, die im SCP in der Box mit dem Titel "Zugangsdaten zum FTP Server" unter "Hostname" steht. Wiederhole diese Schritte für die Felder "Benutzername", "Passwort" und "Port". Drücke dann auf "Verbinden". Auf der rechten Seite des Bildschirms erscheinen nun zwei Ordner. Doppelklicke auf "cdrom". Auf der linken Seite des Bildschirms navigierst du zu deiner ISO-Datei. Klicke zunächst mit der rechten Maustaste auf die Datei und dann auf "Hochladen". Der Upload-Prozess sollte nun beginnen.

Variante B - Hochladen der ISO-Datei über das Linux- oder MacOS-Terminal mit SCP

Öffne das Terminal. Navigiere zu deinem Download-Ort (z.B. Downloads).

cd downloads

Gib nun folgenden Befehl ins Terminal ein:

scp -oHostKeyAlgorithms=+ssh-dss -P 2222 meineisodatei.iso <Benutzername>@<Hostname>:/cdrom/.

Achte hierbei darauf, dass du den Namen der heruntergeladenen Datei anstelle von "meineisodatei.iso" eingibst. Für und setzt du die Daten aus der Box "Zugangsdaten zum FTP Server" im SCP ein. Drücke nun "Enter". Du wirst nach dem Passwort gefragt. Kopiere das Passwort in das Terminal und drücke "Enter". Der Upload-Prozess sollte nun beginnen.

Schritt 4 Installations-ISO im SCP einlegen

Nach erfolgreichem Upload solltest du dein Installations-ISO im SCP im Abschnitt "Eigene DVDs" sehen. Klicke auf den Namen des ISOs. Setze den Haken bei "Bootmodus auf DVD setzen?" auf "Ja" und klicke dann auf "Speichern".

Abschluss

Damit der Server in die neue ISO bootet, muss er einmal neu gestartet werden. Dann ist eine Installation des Wunschbetriebssystems der ISO möglich.
