More than 160 participants, exciting presentations and talks, goodie bags bursting at the seams, and a casual get-together in a relaxed atmosphere: that was the netcup Community Event on 18 October 2025 in Karlsruhe. We would like to share a few impressions with you here.

First things first: It was once again a great pleasure for us to welcome so many of you in person at this year's Community Event. Meeting with our community is one of our absolute highlights of the year, something we look forward to for many months in advance. With this in mind, we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came and made the event something very special!

An afternoon dedicated to netcup customers

Community members began arriving at the event location at 1:30 p.m. Before the programme officially started at 2:30 p.m., there was on-site registration, where several netcup employees personally welcomed visitors and handed out well-filled goodie bags and this year's special edition mug. At 2:30 p.m., our moderator Lars, together with the two Managing Directors Alexander Windbichler and Oliver Werner, opened the community event. As a surprise, the three most active members of the netcup customer forum present at the event were each awarded an XXL rubber duck with a matching print.

Then it was time for Oliver Werner to give a brief review of the past year and an outlook on the highlights to come in the coming weeks and months. Our CTO talked about awards such as ‘Web Host of the Year’ and the ‘Service Provider Award,’ our appearances at events such as Cloud Fest, and also reviewed product launches such as the launch of the vGPU server and the launch of the Root Server G12. Finally, there was a little teaser about upcoming highlights such as Black Week and the Advent calendar, new products and a new server location.

After that, it was time to hand over the stage to three netcup customers. Under the motto ‘My project with netcup’, our customers Thomas Fisinger, Tobias Dillig and YouTuber Daniel Klozbücher (IT-ION) discussed various projects that were implemented with netcup products, touching on topics such as managed private servers, digital sovereignty and much more – the 45 minutes literally flew by. We would like to take this opportunity to once again express our sincere thanks to Thomas, Tobias and Daniel for participating and for the exciting insights they shared during the panel discussion.

We then welcomed David Dornieden from Lenovo to the stage. In his keynote speech, David took the audience on a short journey under the motto ‘The Future of Servers’ and provided insights into research and development, current trends and highlights relating to servers. We are grateful to Lenovo for once again generously sponsoring the community event this year – we are delighted to have their support and would like to thank David and the entire Lenovo team for their fantastic contribution

Time for conversations and discussions

After the Lenovo presentation, a break was taken with drinks, coffee and butter pretzels. Many visitors took advantage of the break to chat with each other, but the attractions on site were also very popular: our Sketchbot drew one portrait after another, the server provided by Lenovo was examined closely, and our HR corner was available to answer questions about current jobs and working at netcup.

After refreshments, we continued directly with an item on the agenda that was particularly requested by the community. We are, of course, referring to the Q&A session with our two Managing Directors, Alexander Windbichler and Oliver Werner. The two took an hour to answer questions submitted in advance by you live on stage and were also available for follow-up questions or spontaneous inquiries on site. Topics such as new products, e-invoices, IPv6-only hosting and much more were covered by the duo during the Q&A session.

To round off the evening, a new project was also presented to the public for the first time: the eos platform, a European cloud platform currently being developed by Bruno Hautzenberger and his team. Bruno provided initial insights into the functions and the ideas behind the project, and at the end, those interested had the opportunity to sign up for an update newsletter.

Afterwards, our host Lars took the floor again – only to invite everyone to the ‘grand finale’ of the evening: dinner and a get-together. Over finger food and drinks, the community exchanged ideas, but we also had plenty of opportunities for exciting conversations with you and personal feedback on the event.

We were delighted that so many of you stayed after the event and accepted our invitation to dinner and a get-together. With this in mind, we would like to thank everyone who came to the event – it was a great pleasure for us. We very much hope that you will join us again next year!

Best regards,
The netcup Community Team
